The dopaminergic circuit has been implicated in a variety of behavioural processes, including the recognition of rewards and initiation of their consumption; stimulus-reinforcement contingency learning and the processing of pain, as well as behavioural activation; exertion of effort during instrumental behaviour and seeking; and energy expenditure.
In this symposium, world leaders working in human and animal approaches will discuss in-depth the role of dopamine in motivation and reward. There will be also a few presentations from young scientists presenting novel approaches to the topic. There will be a poster session and plenty of time for stimulating discussions.
